Retired Police Officer with West Midlands Police, holding a Diploma for Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) (Canterbury Christchurch University). Was involved in the provision of Leadership and Staff Development training and qualified to deliver Myers Briggs Type Indicator ®, facilitation of team days, delivery of First Line Managers Development Programme, Post Foundation Modules and other related subject matter. Liaison with Local Delivery and Professional Development Teams to establish and meet leadership training needs and facilitating senior managers training. Also gained a Graduateship with the City & Guilds Institute (GCGI) in Leadership & Management. (Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation). Member of the Society for Education and Training. (MIfL).

Member of the Air Training Corps since 1974, gaining a Glider Pilots licence and completing two parachute jumps. Commissioned into RAF Volunteer Reserve (Training Branch) in January 1982; promoted through the ranks to Squadron Leader in 2003. Attended RAF Stations in the UK, Germany, Gibraltar, Cyprus and appointed Commanding Officer of 163 (Coventry-Phoenix) Squadron from 1989-1997, responsible for 40 cadets & 6 staff. Appointed Wing Staff Officer in 2003 and subsequently Learning and Development Officer, in this capacity responsible for development and teaching of all leadership, organisational and child protection training for cadets and adults. Awarded a Defence Council Letter of Appreciation in 2018.

1987 elected a Councillor onto Warwick District representing a Ward in Leamington Spa for four years. Served on a number of committees including Planning and was a Charter Trustee, responsible for upholding the traditions and Mayorality of the then ‘former’ Borough of Royal Leamington Spa.

A keen collector and researcher of Orders, Decorations and Medals regularly preparing and delivering presentations to local organisations on a range of related subjects and maintaining a web site.
